Crocodile Makes a Sudden Grab at the Riverbank

The river appeared peaceful as animals gathered along the muddy bank to drink. Beneath the surface, however, a large Nile crocodile remained almost completely hidden.

When an unsuspecting animal moved close enough, the crocodile launched forward in a sudden burst of power. Water erupted around the predator as the other animals scattered from the shoreline.

Crocodiles rely heavily on patience and surprise, often remaining motionless for long periods before making a lightning-fast attack. Their ambush strategy makes every trip to an African waterhole potentially dangerous.
