A tiny African elephant calf became trapped in thick mud after slipping near a waterhole. The young elephant cried out as it struggled desperately to free itself.
Within moments, the herd rushed over. Adult elephants surrounded the calf, using their trunks and feet to loosen the mud while protecting it from danger.
After several tense minutes, the calf finally climbed free and ran straight back to its mother, triggering visible excitement throughout the herd.
