Female Boomslang Hunts Chameleon In Kruger

An ambush unfolds in the heart of Kruger National Park when a daring boomslang silently stalks and overcomes an unsuspecting chameleon. This slow-motion showdown proves that a small animal’s hunt can be just as thrilling as watching a big cat take down an antelope!

Safari-goer Trudy filmed this captivating encounter while on a drive in Lower Sabie within Kruger National Park. After noticing some movement on the ground, Trudy realized there was a female boomslang slithering about, and its eyes were fixed on a large chameleon resting in the shade of a fence a few feet away.

As the snake approached its prey, Trudy realized that a tense drama was about to unfold between predator and prey, so she started to film.

The female boomslang, slender and cryptically colored, moved with calculated ease toward the unsuspecting reptile. Meanwhile, the chameleon rocked back and forth in an attempt to deter the approaching predator.
