Our herd has begun to expand, and Mae Koy and Maliwan have joined Yindee’s herd

Due to the Covid-19 crisis in Thailand, we received contact from the elephant’s owner in Koh Chang (located around 300 kilometers east of Bangkok in Trat Province) for assistance in transporting two elephants to Elephant Nature Park, With no tourists, they do not receive income and cannot afford to care for their elephants.

Mae Koy (50 years old) and Maliwan (37 years old) were on their way to Elephant Nature Park on June 3, 2020, when they became thin due to a shortage of food and vitamins.

The elephants had been on the truck since 5.00 am, so it had been a long voyage, From Koh Chang to the mainland, we took a boat across the ocean.

Fortunately, it was not a scorching day, but there was heavy rain, so the trucks came to a halt to give the elephant’s food and water and to allow them to rest.

The two elephants were quite peaceful and easy to travel with; they showed no symptoms of being scared, Our veterinarian, Dr. Tom, was aboard the truck at all times to keep an eye on the elephants.

After a lengthy 30+ hour drive, we arrived on June 4, 2020, The voyage went smoothly, although it was a long time to be on the truck.

We were all weary, and the ladies were relieved to be back on solid ground.

When they arrived in the park, their freedom and tranquil existence began, They both enjoy ample food with a wide variety of options, as well as a life free of chains.
